Yebilaptsa Central School Law Club Hosts Transformative Crime Awareness Program in Collaboration with RBP

On July 18, 2025, the Law Club of Yebilaptsa Central School (Zhemgang) successfully conducted a Crime Awareness Program aimed at nurturing legal literacy and civic responsibility among youth. The program was led by Dasho OC (Officer in Command) of the Royal Bhutan Police, Zhemgang Police Station, whose presence and powerful delivery brought gravitas and deep insight to the session.

Targeting students from Grades VII to X, the initiative served as a critical platform for educating young minds about the importance of crime prevention, legal awareness, and the long-term consequences of unlawful behavior. Dasho OC, a seasoned law enforcement officer, addressed the gathering with conviction and compassion, emphasizing the necessity of informed decision-making, moral courage, and standing as advocates of justice within their communities.

More than a lecture, the session was interactive, thought-provoking, and profoundly engaging. It tackled real-life challenges faced by Bhutanese youth today, peer pressure, cyber safety, substance abuse, and conflict resolution, while encouraging students to play an active role in shaping a safer and more accountable society.

The BNLI commends the Law Club of Yebilaptsa Central School for its foresight and initiative in organizing this timely program. The Club’s commitment to legal education reflects the broader goals of cultivating a legally conscious generation capable of navigating the complexities of modern society with wisdom and integrity.

We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Royal Bhutan Police, particularly the Zhemgang Police Station, for its invaluable collaboration. Their dedication to youth engagement and community outreach plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between law enforcement and the younger generation.

This partnership between the school and the RBP stands as a shining example of how institutions can come together to instill knowledge, promote justice, and inspire positive change. The BNLI looks forward to seeing more such collaborative efforts across the country, nurturing a future that is both law-abiding and enlightened.
