A six-day virtual training on “Court-Annexed Mediation” (Phase V) for the Bench Clerks began today. A total of 23 participants are attending the training from various Courts across the country. It is funded by RGoB.
The Institute, hitherto, has trained 119 judicial mediators. The training aims to impart the participants with necessary skills and techniques for Court-Annexed Mediation. Even if the community mediation has failed, parties could still opt for the court-annexed mediation.
The training aims to enhance access to justice through mediation services for registered cases only at free of cost. The case can be referred to the mediation unit either at the request of any parties or by a judge if he believes that there is a good reason to do so with the consent of the parties.
The training is being facilitated by the Justices from the High Court of Bhutan, and the faculty from the Institute. The training will conclude on Saturday the 20th.
