The Bhutan National Legal Institute (BNLI), with support of UNICEF Bhutan, successfully commenced the second phase of its Legal Advocacy Program on ๐๐๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐๐ง for School Law Clubs across the country. The program which began today, October 8, 2025, at Chumey Central School. and Ura Higher Secondary School in Bumthang, marked another significant stride in Bhutanโs ongoing commitment to nurturing a legally conscious, just, and responsible generation.
The first phase, launched last year, reached 27 schools across 13 Dzongkhags. Building on that foundation, the second phase has now extended to the remaining 26 School Law Clubs, ensuring full national coverage across all 20 Dzongkhags by the end of this month.
Over the course of three weeks, the advocacy sessions will travel from Bumthang to Paro, reaching schools in the farthest valleys and the busiest towns, uniting students under a shared understanding of the law, justice, and citizenship.
The programโs central objective is to empower young minds with legal literacy, particularly in understanding the concept of child justice, how the law protects them, how they can uphold it, and how their actions can shape a lawful and compassionate society. By familiarizing students with the principles of due process and restorative justice, the Institute aspires to instill in them both respect for the rule of law and empathy for those affected by it.
In doing so, the BNLI also continues to fulfill its noble mandate as the patron institution of School Law Clubs in Bhutan, nurturing the spirit of legal education among the nationโs youth. Through these clubs, students are not only introduced to the law but also to its living essence, such as fairness, accountability, and civic duty.
As the program progresses through the remaining districts, the BNLI remains steadfast in its mission to enrich the nationโs future through legal awareness, education, and empowerment. For in every child who learns to respect the law, there grows a citizen capable of strengthening the rule of law, and in every school that embraces justice, there blooms a stronger Bhutan. And as each school nurtures this spirit of justice, Bhutan moves closer to its eternal vision, a society guided by a ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐, ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, and the ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐.
